The Roussel Company in Paris was located at 118 Rue Vieille-du-Temple. It was established by Eugène Doutre-Roussel and then inherited by his son Pierre a master goldsmith.

This Ottoman-style 6-piece coffee and tea set circa 1865 comes with a silver coffee pot a teapot a cream-jug and a covered sugar pot as well as a silver-gilt metal hot water kettle with stand and burner. The cream-jug and sugar pot are lightly gilded on the inside. Each piece has been decorated with oriental motifs acid-etched and engraved on a matted background. They bear the Lazard Family L L monogram and are punched with the Duponchel marker's mark as well as the French hallmark for 925 silver (head of Minerva in an octagon).
