    Gorgeous rosewood writing table with quartered veneering and featuring three drawers along the frieze. Ornamented with gilded bronze banding along the top edge and finely chiselled foliate scrolling along the lower serpentine edges of the frieze. Cornered with gilded bronze busts mounted on scrolling foliate motifs. It stands on cabriole and shell legs terminating in bronze sabots. Ancient leather top cleaned and rewaxed. Carcass revarnished using traditional french techniques. The lock bears the cabinetmaker's stamp: 'P SORMANI 10 r. Charlot Paris'
